Source of truth (not heavy CAD)
BSF tanks are mostly drums, crates, sheet stock, mesh, and ramps. We publish specs a builder can follow without SolidWorks or Fusion:
- SVG drawings — shown inline on design pages (style guide)
- Materials as HTML tables on overview and build pages (optional CSV export for spreadsheets)
- Build guides as HTML — full steps at
/designs/<scale>/docs/build/(browser + PWA offline) - OpenSCAD (optional) — parametric parts as text source when math helps
Exports when a shop asks
PDF, DXF, STEP, or STL may be generated from the sources above for laser shops or 3D-printed jigs—they are not the only editable copy we maintain.
Craftsman handoff
A complete scale folder should include:
- Overview page with inline schematics + materials table
- HTML build guide at
/designs/<scale>/docs/build/ - Dimensioned SVG sources in
drawings/(embedded on those pages) - Reference photos when available
Cross-cutting rules (ramp angles, drainage, aeration) are in the tank design article; each scale folder holds dimensions and assembly.
